Everybody can edit any page - that's the Wiki concept. Click the Edit tab on any page!
If you or your company are interested in how digital rights technology gets into fonts, then we'd like to hear from you. Ideally, you'll contribute by editing pages on this website, and adding new pages. We've started off some topics, linked from the Main Page, but please feel free to add more pages and improve existing pages.
To distinguish this website from a discussion group, let's try and aim for a neutral point of view. If there are partisan points, or points that are best made emotionally, then please put them in quotes and attribute them to the person or group of people that thinks that way. It would be great if you could write a little about yourself on your own personal page - click the red link labelled with your login name at the top of the screen. Finally, if you have material that's on other websites, then please link to it from relevant pages of the site.
There's no better place to learn about Wikis than the Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/). Here is their excellent introduction on how to start editing Wiki sites:

Wiki syntax is really simple once you get the hang of it. I helped Miss Tiffany and Frank to start writing pages, and they started to enjoy it after about 5 minutes. The best place to try out Wiki syntax is on your own page, which is linked from the red text of your username at the top of the page, when you're signed in.
During September Frank will give assistance to other Wiki newbies in learning the Wiki syntax. Just add "helpme" to the part you need assistance on and write what you want to do. The Wiki will be screened twice a day during September and changes made accordingly. Any Wiki savvy user is welcome to join in!
Quick tips
- Create an account at this Wiki, click on your username (top of the screen in red) then create a page about yourself. You can always fine-tune it later.
- Try the Wikipedia Sandbox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Sandbox) or your own user page to experiment with Wiki syntax!
- Get the hang of using multiple straight quotes for italic and bold (click 'edit' to see how I formatted those)
- For simple articles, type paragraphs of text with paragraphs separated by double line-breaks.
- Links within the Wiki are accomplished with double square brackets like this (click 'edit') to see how.
- If the page linked to by the type of link mentioned above doesn't exist yet, then it will appear in red - clicking on it will bring up an Edit window, into which you can type content for the new page.
- Links outside of the Wiki are handled like this one to Google (http://www.google.com/). Click 'edit' to see how the space separates the URL from the text used in the link.
- Use the Preview function before saving.
- Use the Summary box to let us know what you've changed, when saving any edit.
Lorp will build this page into a Frequently Asked Questions list if there's demand and gratitude! In the meantime, you can add things to this page's Discussion page and I'll respond there or add new items to the article. Feel free to iChat/AIM me at 'lorpaim' or e-mail mail me at <lorp at lorp dot org>. I recall Tom Phinney and Peter Lofting are Wiki users of some years, but I'll allow them to advertise their own help services.
MediaWiki help
This site uses MediaWiki (http://meta.wikimedia.org/), the same software that runs the Wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org/). I've recommended using Wikipedia's Help section, since that's written in a much friendlier style than the official MediaWiki User's Guide (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Contents).
